Love this!! I am quickly learning this whole heart-wrenching Motherhood thing. As soon as we brought our newborn home, our 2 year old suddenly looked so grown up and different and it ripped my heart right out. Having a newborn in the spring has been both wonderful with extra sunlight and warmth and tough because of solo parenting. I have FOMO for my husband who has been endlessly busy with seeding, spraying, and kicking cows out. Seems like all the special moments with the girls are missed!
We had to re-plant a shelter belt this week, and I planted a couple extras at our house. What a wonderful idea to take pictures with the kids!
Still searching for a book to read, something fun and light! I've also been looking for cute tops this summer that are nursing friendly. The maternity/nursing tops are just not that cute! I've found some things on Depop but it can be hit or miss.
I so remember bringing home a baby, and the toddler looking huge all of a sudden! It sounds like you've had a super busy spring! The extra light is good for everyone. :)
I definitely recommend "It's a Love Story," which I mentioned in this newsletter, but I had not finished the book yet when I posted this. But, I flew through it in just a couple of days -- it was a perfect "beach" read type of book. Romance, humor, likable characters!
Finding cute nursing tops can be hard! I think by my second or third, I was wearing regular tops and pulling them up (or down!) to nurse. ;)
Goodness, reading about your thoughts of a backyard wedding made me emotional. Motherhood truly is having your heart walk around outside your body.
I am looking forward to reading TJR’s new book, too. I also want to read Katherine Center’s new book, but my library doesn’t even have a copy on Libby!
I got a cute flutter sleeve crinkle gauze shirt at Old Navy last week, and it’s so soft and lightweight. I got the sage green but they had white and black and a kind of pinky purple color too.
I'm so excited for TJR's book! I had it in my head that it came out later in June, so I'm excited I don't have to wait much longer. Haha. I love her books on audio! I'll check out Old Navy!!
I was just writing about a memory of planting trees on our yard when your post arrived! I too, have dreamed of our children's weddings on our yard someday, a fun daydream and I can only imagine the work of it all and all the things I'd want to do if it ever comes true!
Ahhh the photos in the magazine look so good! I hadn't seen it! ;) Hot take: I did not like the new Emily Henry book AT ALL. I've got it's a love story on my library holds, still 23 people ahead of me so I am waiting not-so-patiently.
You should have gotten a copy... maybe yours is still on its way?? I'll find out! (I just got mine on Tuesday.) Yeah, the book was a letdown. :( I'm hoping Taylor Jenkins Reid's new book comes through for me next week! ;)
Those wedding pics were stunning! Thanks for sharing! Also - the shirt is SPOT ON. :) I might join you on the Bible reading plan. 🙏🏻 I can picture you far east from me, gazing at the horizon. I love it when we drive back to Minnesota in the summer and spend the entire day up and down hills filled with hope for an abundant fall harvest. Have you read "All The Colors of the Dark"? It was for my book club - captivating! Have you watched, "Love, Meghan"? Such sweet, pretty ideas. I literally just found pics of the tiny evergreens we planted near my parents' century farm years ago. When I go back for a visit, I now walk on a road that skirts the edge of the the trees. 🌲
Beautiful! And I have a soft spot for backyard weddings. It was fun to read this and dream a little with you!
Thank you, Joy!

“what a privilege it is to stand witness to the growth of the trees I planted and the children I grew.” 😭♥️ Loved this, Stacy!
Thanks, Allie!!

I can't wait to read your story!
The photos are stunning! And I also loved The Nonnas.
That wedding was so pretty!

They said yours shipped, so hopefully you'll get it soon! The mail between Canada and the US is slow!

I'll keep my eyes peeled! Can't wait to read it!

I have read All the Colors of the Dark! I've heard another one of his books is good too, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet.
