I can’t wait to see the photos! I love how you worded it “play in the past” I’ve been trying so hard to give my kids a 90s summer, honestly a 90s childhood and I have realized real quick they are in the minority. But I’m not mad about it, I think we are doing them a big favor!
Love this, Stacy! Can’t wait to hear how the photos turn out. Isn’t it funny how something that used to be so common—loading and using film—feels like such A Big Deal now? And I love that the waitress had been eyeing your disposable camera all night!
A disposable camera is fun and nostalgic, but I once ruined a whole roll of film’s worth of vacation photos because I think the film wasn’t properly loaded! Being in college at the time I was mad for the wasted film and the developing fee all down the drain. Have to say I love my iPhone camera better, lol.
Also, Blackhawk is amazing. And 90s country is the best kind. I saw them once with Little Texas and Restless Heart (one of my faves). It was the best show! Second time they were with the Outlaws (some crossover of band members) which was cool because, well, I’m a little bit rock & roll too! 🤘🏻
Oh shoot! That stinks about the vacation picks. I'm definitely using my phone this summer too... not leaving it all to the film cameras! :) 90s country is the best!!
I love Blackhawk! We had our own 90s nostalgia concert recently when we got to see Cake. Looking forward to seeing how your photos turned out! I have fond memories of blurry photos of friends and pets that I kept anyway because they were best ones I'd gotten.
I'm inspired and am going to dig up an old Polaroid to use when our son and his gf visit over the 4th. I just recently found some of those "what is this?" prints that our daughter took in middle school. And, of course, being a 1981 high school graduate, I have piles of photos from film cameras: silly ones, faded ones, and truly cherished memories. Those prints are all I have of certain special moments. ❤️
I am 100% here for the disposable cams! I used a little fujifilm months ago and still haven’t taken it to get developed haha. You’ll have to share your pictures when they’re ready!
I love this so much Stacy! You've inspired me to pick up some disposable cameras for our trip out west in a couple weeks. I know my kids will love having their own camera to use and I'll like not having my phone in my pocket all the time.
My kids do the same thing - ask to see the picture right after I’ve taken it 😉 What’s extra fun about film is that if you have a terrible memory like me, half the pictures will be a surprise because you won’t even remember taking them in the first place!
A few years ago, I had a twenty year old call a film camera "vintage" and that was when I realized I was old (I'm not, I'm barely in my thirties) but I was a kid in the 90s and sometimes I really do miss a lot of what we had back then. Love this post!
You’re inspiring me to grab some film simply for that feeling of waiting and being surprised once they’re developed. I think my kids will love it! They’ve never seen film before. 😄

I agree! Thanks for reading, friend!
This is so fun, Stacy! I will have to interrupt my game of Mall Madness to go buy a disposable camera.
Haha! I hope you’re winning!

It did feel like such a big deal! I had to follow the manual, making sure I did it right. :)

The blurry photos are like a symbol of the 90s! Haha.

There's something special about holding the actual photo in your hand.

Hopefully it's not a bunch of black photos... but I guess we will find out! ;)
Aw, such a nostalgic post. And Blackhawk!! I love their music, a concert would be so good!
Thanks for reading, Christina! Yes, they were so good!
I have several disposable cameras I need to get developed!! But I’m so excited! It really is such an exercise in delayed gratification.
Yes, it is!! I bet you have some fun pics!

Thanks, Melissa! Your boys will love that! Amazon has them, and they are cheaper than what I found in a store.

Haha yes! I can't wait to see what I took pictures of. ;)
Will be anxiously waiting for you to share the photos when you get them! :)
I'm sure they will all be amazing! ;)
Can’t wait to see what develops! 😉
I see what you did there. ;) I can't wait to see them!

I cannot wait to see more photos from you! I really loved reading this, friend.
