I love this list -- your perspective, your writing, your photos. All so beautiful! Also, have you read The Book of Delights by Ross Gay? It's one of my favorites and I think you'd love it.
I really enjoyed reading your list of harvest delights, Stacy. The zinnias look gorgeous and I love what you wrote about being part of something bigger than yourself!
Thanks, Erin! My chickens also love the zinnias, so I spend the day keeping them out of the boxes, because I want them to last for as long as possible. :)
What beautiful photos and video! Harvest really is a marathon, and your idea to find the delights in it was a wonderful way to practice gratitude. It truly is a great feeling to be bringing in the fruits of your labor though. I try to appreciate the change of seasons during our fall harvest, and it’s probably when we get some of our most beautiful weather. Same during spring planting, which I sometimes feel can be more hectic than harvest because it can be wet and full of delays.
It is a marathon! As a former sprinter, I am not a fan of the marathon sometimes. 😆😆 I enjoyed looking for these little moments though. And keep thinking of more I could have added!!
Haha! I know the feeling, you open the seed packet and you’re like is this it? Aren’t there anymore? I bought blue flax flowers and I think there were about 8 in there 😒😂
This was a lovely read. The unicorn mix zinnias are gorgeous, I didn’t get those and this made me re-think that! I didn’t know that there were softer shades in there! Praying all your crops are healthy and abundant! (getting rain after a long wait is just so wonderful!)
The markers on the window!!! My three year old would love this! Thanks for the idea.:) and the reminder to embrace the good even when it’s surrounded by crazy🥰
It’s true! In the farm one learns skills and work ethic that carries over to whatever we do today! Those particular skills aren’t necessarily as incorporated into other professions! Remember: “Early to bed, early to rise”?
Great list of delights! We’ve had a cool week this week and I’m loving wearing my jeans again today!
Thank you! We're still in the 70s today... but will be creeping back up again!

Thanks, Jodie! I haven’t read that one!
Love this list of delights! And as a fellow black-thumb, I’m so impressed by your gorgeous zinnias!
Thanks, Laura!!
What an eye opening read once again! Love it Stacy!
Thanks, Kym!

Another lovely read.
Thank you, Vanessa.

Thank you! The colors are a fun change from the bright colors! I just wish there were more seeds in the little bag. Haha.

Yes, they love drawing on the windows!!
I’m assuming they are dry erase markers? I’m totally stealing this idea!!
Yes, they are!
Farm life is a really busy endeavor! Enjoyed your pictures!
Thanks so much!
As an old farm boy, I relate to them!
I love that!! Are you still on the farm?
Oh no, but my memory carries me back there often. I’m a retired school principal living in Georgia.
