Big Jack Ryan fan over here. Sad it’s done! And isn’t it funny how we make time and then fill it so easily? Maybe your brain just needed the rest and sunshine! And maybe trust that itch in your gut and get started again next week when the school year is in full swing!
And yes, so true! I really just did need a break! And am still enjoying that break! :) I'm slowly working on getting back in the habit of getting up before the kids!
Thank you for your kind words and recommendation, Stacy! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to work with you on creating this website. It was so much fun! Thank you for entrusting it to me!
Love this newsletter and the glimpse into harvest. Where we live so many of the kids are driving/doing all the farm equipment and I see such joy from them and responsibility. My husband helped bale hay over the years but that’s about it! He did sit in a combine with someone, though. I’m happy just to watch! And LOVELY website!
A delight to read! What a neat experience for your son to teach you, and I laughed about the 3 year old and snacks. Added Comfort Me with Apples to my goodreads, I also loved Save Me the Plums. See you in Chicago! It’s also my upcoming trip!
I think my farm kid is also a bit 'extra' about farming. ;) I'm not sure that's normal for a not quite 9 year old to drive a combine. He's definitely his father's son.
Okay, I need to show my 7 and 9-year-old boys this post because they will freeeak out!! on their first week of school interviews this year, they wrote that they want to be farmers, and my oldest has a Bruder combine, which no one else is allowed to touch.
Love watching this! We live in rural PA and are surrounded by smaller farms, it's great! My mom tagged us along when we were kids; she did housekeeping for a farmer's wife so she could attend to the thousand other things going on! My mom is 90 now and the lady near the same. She has been the most faithful friend. Farmers are God's special people. ❤️👍👌❤️ and Jack Ryan, oh yeah!

I'm sad we only have one episode left!! :(

I love how it turned out!

Thank you, Kim! I love how it turned out! And thanks for reading!
Your pictures are stunning. The seemingly-endless fields look hypnotizing. And your new website is SO lovely! Really clean and inviting.
The Retrievals absolutely blew my mind. So heartbreaking and infuriating!
My FAVORITE pen is the Pentel EnerGel .7mm. Comes in lots of colors, writes smoothly, and you can buy refills.
Thanks, Erin!! I love how it turned out! And harvest pics are always some of my favorites. The big blue sky and the wheat is always a beautiful combo.
It was a wild podcast! I couldn't believe how it ended.
I'll have to check out that pen! Thank you!

Thanks, Alyssa!! The trip is coming so soon! Ah!!
And never enough snacks with a three year old! :)
I can’t get over your 9 year old driving that enormous machine. Farm kids are just built different (in the best way 😉)

PS we don’t live on a farm😂
Ha! I love that! My son is very possessive over his toy tractors and combines!
Oh wow. Those photos are something else. It’s vast! I think it’s starting to sink in for me how big your farm is and how much work it must take.
Thanks, Rebecca! It does take a lot of work!
Love. :)
And that part about the snacks brought back sweet mothering memories! (And made me laugh :)
One should always double the amount of snacks you think you need, when toddlers are involved.
Thank you!
